Styrolon

Styrolon
Styrolon (EPS) is a thermoplastic, closed cell, lightweight, rigid form of plastic, EPS’s properties of low thermal conductivity, high compressive strength and excellent shock absorption properties make it an ideal material for many uses. EPS is especially well suited for insulation and protective packaging applications where reliable performance and value and critical benchmarks. Styrolon EPS is one of the lightest of all construction materials allowing ease of handling and faster construction times. Its outstanding thermal insulation properties and durability ensure performance throughout the full life time of the building/construction application in which it is used.

Wall Insulation

SmartBoard Benefits
STYROLON EPS cut sheets have multiple applications in the construction, HVAC and packaging industries. They can be used in cavity wall, duct and floor insulation, void filling, floor raising and packaging application. High density sheets are recommended for roof insulation. EPS strips allow the concrete to expand or shrink without any cracks or damage on the surface.

Thermal Performance
The R-value of Foam-Control insulation remains constant and does not suffer from R-value loss. The closed cell structure of Foam-Control insulation contains air and not blowing agents which deplete over time.
Exposure to Water and Water Vapor
The mechanical properties of molded polystyrene are unaffected by moisture. Exposure to water or water vapor does not cause swelling.
Temperature Exposure/Flame Retardants
Molded polystyrene is able to withstand the rigors of temperature cycling, assuring long-term performance. Although flame retardants used in the manufacture of molded polystyrene provide an important margin of safety, all molded polystyrene products must be considered combustible. The maximum recommended long-term exposure temperature for Foam-Control insulation is 1650F (740C).
Weathering
Long-term exposure to sunlight causes yellowing and a slight embrittlement of the surface due to ultraviolet light. This has little effect on mechanical properties. If stored outdoors, cover molded polystyrene with opaque polyethylene film, tarps, or similar material.
Resistance to Termites, Mold, and Mildew
Foam plastic insulations have been shown to become termite infested under certain exposure conditions. Foam-Control insulation with Perform Guard® provides resistance to termite infestation.
Adhesives, Coatings, and Chemicals
Solvents which attack molded polystyrene include esters, ketones, ethers, aromatic, and aliphatic hydrocarbons and their emulsions, among others. If molded polystyrene is to be placed in contact with materials (or their vapors) of unknown composition, pretest for compatibility at maximum exposure temperature.

Concrete curing and Expansion joint for Concrete
STYROLON EPS cut sheets are used as concrete curing application. These sheets are used as insulation medium when concrete is directly exposed to sunlight or windy weather. STYROLON EPS is supplying from 50mm thick standard size sheets for such applications. Normally from 14-16 Kgs/m3 density sheets are recommended.
STYROLON EPS cut strips are used as expansion joint fills. A general concrete surface has a tendency to shrink or expand according to the atmospheric temperature. It expands in summer and shrinks in winter.
Sound and Acoustic Insulation
Sound/Noise has become a by-product of our day-to-day life. It is just an irritant and it can disturb our sleep, add stress, infringe our privacy, and generally steal from our quality of life. Such unwanted stressful situations can be averted with the help of STYROLON EPS Sound Insulation Sheets. In modern days, there are varieties of insulation materials / solutions which are available in the market to keep away sound/noise from the buildings. We offer the best, economical, environment-friendly solution.
